DataIntell Resources Ltd ("DataIntell", "we", "us") operates the DataIntell platform at dataintell.co.uk. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: username, email address, full name, institution, country, profile picture, bio, research interests.

Research data: project submissions, methodology descriptions, results, uploaded files (research papers, datasets, presentations).

Usage data: pages viewed, projects viewed, reactions, comments, collaboration requests, session data, IP address, browser type.

Communication data: messages sent through collaboration threads, contact form submissions.


3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the DataIntell platform
  • Validate your research submissions using AI and human review
  • Generate cryptographic proof-of-authorship certificates
  • Send notifications about your submissions, collaborations, and platform activity
  • Calculate and display impact scores and community metrics
  • Prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Contract: processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for.

Legitimate interests: platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement.

Consent: marketing emails and newsletter (you can withdraw at any time).


5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Anthropic: research content is processed by Claude AI for validation (subject to Anthropic's privacy policy)
  • Railway: cloud hosting provider where your data is stored
  • Email service providers: for sending transactional emails
  • Law enforcement: when required by law

Your published research content is publicly visible by design — that is the purpose of the platform. Personal contact information is never shared publicly.


6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Restriction — request we limit processing of your data

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days. Published research content may be retained in anonymised form for platform integrity.

We use session cookies (necessary for login) and analytics cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect platform functionality.


9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, secure session management, and store data on Railway's cloud infrastructure with PostgreSQL. Passwords are hashed using Django's PBKDF2 algorithm.
